RESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR

We are a non-profit agency based in Millbrook, NY responsible for ensuring that all residents are cared for, that their needs are understood, that their preferences are followed, and that their rights are protected.

This position provides supervision and guidance on the floor, including training staff, monitoring staff performance, and providing direction and correction as necessary. This position performs duties of direct care staff, including hands-on care and treatment of residents, to ensure proper care, treatment, supervision, and safety of residents. This is a full-time position scheduled Sunday – Thursday (35 hours per week) with flexibility based on house needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
  • High school or GED diploma required.
  • Must be certified in OPWDD Medication Administration or demonstrate the capacity to obtain certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Computer literacy preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate positive and effective leadership.
  • Maintain professional development by attending trainings, staff meetings, and other program meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain resident care and treatment to include modeling and ensuring respectful, compassionate, and appropriate treatment of each resident.
  • Exemplify agency mission, values and culture.
  • Ensure safety of residents and staff.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of treatment programs and active treatment.
  • Ensure timely and thorough data collection.
  • Ensure follow-through with agency medical protocol.
  • Management of personnel, and house/agency systems to ensure overall running of the program.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations for scheduling, conducting, and reporting fire/evacuation drills.
  • Ensure compliance with fiscal systems – SSI funds, purchase requisitions, petty cash, etc.
  • Submit payroll and ensure staff compliance with payroll systems.
