We are a non-profit agency based in Millbrook, NY responsible for ensuring that all residents are cared for, that their needs are understood, that their preferences are followed, and that their rights are protected.
Responsible for staff training and education on the OPWDD Medication Certification. This is an On-Call position expected to teach 1 class twice per quarter. The days are flexible based on the needs of the Agency.
Qualifications:
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Ability to work and communicate cooperatively and effectively with Residential Staff, Medical Staff and Administrative staff.
- Ability to set up and carry out the medication course practicum.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Teach the OPWDD medication and G-tube class certification class twice per quarter.
- Assist House RN’s with completion of required pours to complete medication administration certification.
- Assist House RN’s with completion of annual medication pours, may include travel to any of the agency homes.
- Completed documentation to be submitted to Medical Office Manager to update database of currently certified Med Staff and a copy of completed documentation to Human Resources.
- Assist House nurses with CPR training to agency staff.
