Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS)
This is a Full Time; 35 hours a week position Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop behavior support plans for individuals emphasizing positive approaches to teaching replacement behaviors.
- Complete comprehensive functional behavior assessments for individuals displaying undesirable and/or socially maladaptive behavior.
- Provide training, guidance, and coaching to the staff and other departments regarding behavior support interventions.
- Collect and review data at minimum monthly in a manner that allows for trend analysis.
- Report trends in positive outcomes and areas of concern to the agency leadership/Clinical Director.
- Ensure data is entered into the OPWDD’s Restrictive Intervention Application (RIA) and provide summary reports at least quarterly to the Clinical Director.
- Communicate with the appropriate psychiatrist(s) in an ongoing manner per agency protocol to ensure information to and from the respective Interdisciplinary Team is accurate and timely.
- Review support plans for individuals with the respective Interdisciplinary Team on a semi-annual basis and revise or update plans as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from a Clinical or Treatment field of Psychology or Social Work and must meet OPWDD specific BIS credentials.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License, for more than 3 years.
- Compassionate, professional, reliable and a team player.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Products
$34.52-$43.26 per hour
