We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to cover two (2) of our Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) in Millbrook, NY and surrounding areas. In this role, you will supervise the medical care of our residents and train staff to follow each resident’s care plan, as well as collaborate with our on-site physicians in a home-like environment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible 4×10 or 5×8 daytime hours!
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Current NYS Registered Nurse License
- At least two (2) years of nursing experience is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in an ICF, IRA or related field, preferred
- Experience in behavioral health a plus
- Valid driver’s license
What You’ll Do as a Registered Nurse (Responsibilities):
- Provide oversight for the health related needs of the residents.
- Participate in the development of the total plan of care for the residents.
- Be knowledgeable of resident’s medical information.
- Review all nursing communications, physician’s orders and progress notes.
- Provide care for any change in medical condition, emergencies, or injuries of residents.
- Keep medical chart current noting all changes in medical condition, follow up medical appointments etc.
- Ensure that written policy and procedure for medication administration is followed by med certified staff.
- Supervise and instruct staff in medication administration procedure, supervising annual pourings.
- Assist in teaching the medication administration curriculum as directed by OPWDD at the request of the Nursing Supervisor.
- Arrange medical appointments, and accompany residents to appointments as deemed necessary.
- Provide staff training as requested by Nursing Supervisor.
- Attend staff meetings, treatment team, med reviews.
- Monitor expectations as outlined in the individuals plan of nursing service and staff compliance to expectations.
- Provide supervision to LPN’s and direct care in the performance of medically related tasks.
